Individual Therapy
Psychotherapy and counselling are two distinct forms of therapy, each with its own focus.
Psychotherapy generally involves a comprehensive and prolonged approach that emphasises an individual's emotions and historical experiences which are also affecting the present. This process can also facilitate personal development.
In contrast, counselling is often associated with brief therapeutic conversations. It aims to assist individuals in addressing immediate challenges. Through counselling, you can cultivate strategies, actions, and behaviours that enhance the manageability and enjoyment of everyday life.
Both Individual counselling or psychotherapy offer a safe and confidential space to speak to a trained professional. A therapist can help you explore and address experiences which may be causing distress, concern and discomfort and hindering the living of your true potential. They can help you identify any unhealthy behaviour patterns, beliefs and emotions and find strategies and techniques to support change and transformation.
Working with you we will use a wide range of models and techniques to enable understanding of your life’s story. As practitioners, our methods include dream explorations, using the imagination, visualisation, creative writing and trauma informed strategies.

As counselling and psychotherapy practitioners we work Monday to Friday and offer flexibility around appointment times.
We both work with individual adults, offering long and short-term face-to-face or online therapy. Each session is for 60 minutes.
We start with an initial session that enables us to meet, for you to share what brings you to counselling or psychotherapy and to see how therapy might help you. Depending on who you wish to speak with, Marie or Laurence, we will explain a little about how we work and discuss a best possible approach for you.
Our fees are structured according to the current market rates and we do charge a fee for the initial consultation. We can sometimes offer concessions in certain circumstances.
