DOR Therapy Services
Marie O’Reilly Duffy and Laurence Duffy, the founders of DOR Therapy Services, are dedicated to delivering family support services throughout the NW London borough of Brent, alongside a team of qualified and accredited professionals.
Our offerings encompass a range of support services, including individual counselling, couple and relationship counselling, counselling for children and young people, family therapy, and the facilitation of workshops focused on Emotional Health and Well-being.
Individual counselling and psychotherapy
Individual counselling or psychotherapy offers a safe and confidential space to express, explore and address experiences which may be causing distress, concern and discomfort and hindering people from living their life to the fulness of their potential. In therapy people are helped to identify any unhealthy behaviour patterns, beliefs and emotions and find strategies and techniques to support change and transformation.
Couple’s & relationship counselling
Couple’s and relationship counselling offers an opportunity for couples to explore their relationship, to renew and build good communication, resolve difficulties and transform patterns of behaviour that keep them stuck in an unhappy and unhealthy way of life.
Children and Young People’s counselling
Children and Young People’s counselling supports the emotional health and wellbeing of children and young people. It provides the opportunity to explore difficulties and challenges in a safe and confidential space.
Family Therapy
Family therapy aims to help those living together as a family to better understand and support each other. It creates the opportunity for family members to express and explore challenging dynamics in the family and begin to understand each other’s point of view, needs, develop communication, and improve inter-family relationships.
Parenting and Co-parenting
Parenting programmes offer parents the opportunity to explore and discuss a positive approach to parenting which enhances children’s well-being and develops their self-confidence and self-esteem. Parenting programmes also focus on enabling parents to develop skills and strategies to encourage appropriate behaviour and address misbehaviour.
Co-parenting support enables separated/divorced parents to co-parent their children in an assertive and positive way. Parents can also develop tools and skills to enhance their communication in service of their children’s and their own well-being.
Emotional Health and Wellbeing workshops
Weekly workshops take place in Family Wellbeing Centres with the aim of providing parents with the opportunity to address the thoughts feelings and experiences, which are affecting their EMOTIONAL Health and Wellbeing. Participants have the opportunity to share, discuss and express through mindfulness exercises, visualisation, creative expression (including arts and crafts, music etc.) and group discussion.
