Couples Counselling & Relationship Counselling
Couples Counselling
A couple’s relationship requires attention, consideration and respect.
Over time, an intimate relationship may suffer from lack of attention. All sorts of things can happen in our day to day lives, which can get in the way of relating and connecting with each other. Lack of attention can cause unhealthy patterns to develop, couples can stop listening to each other and communicating.
Taking the step into couple’s counselling can be seen as a gift from the couple to their relationship and to each other – a gift which will nourish, value and attend to what their relationship needs in order to grow and deepen. It can provide an opportunity for couples or individuals to delve into their emotions and contemplate their relationship dynamics and relating styles. Additionally, it can assist in addressing previous relationship traumas and losses, as well as gaining insight into one's behaviours in intimate relationships.
In couples counselling, the therapist works with the couple to:
facilitate change and enable insight
help more effective communication
encourage reflection and deliberation so that couples can recognise their choices
support them in finding their own conclusions and decisions
The couples counsellor provides a safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment where both will have the opportunity to:
explore what is happening in your relationship
assess your current relational skill set
extend your expertise
deepen your communication routes
resolve difficulties and transform behaviour patterns
We offer face-to-face or online couples counselling. For more information or to book an appointment please see our contact page.
Relationship Counselling
Human beings are quite naturally sociable creatures who generally seek the company of others, want meaningful friendship and relationships, desire positive interactions and fulfilling intimate attachments. At the heart of our society, however, is difference.
Dealing with difference in relationships can be challenging and sometimes perplexing as we find ourselves disturbed by conflicting emotions and thoughts.
Finding ‘right relationships’ is a skill which can be learnt through relationship counselling. The counsellor can offer you methods to improve, deepen and enrich all your relationships; the quality of your life and the lives of those around you.
Whether difficulties and concerns are affecting your intimate interactions or the connections that occur in a workplace environment, focusing on right relations with a counsellor will offer routes to personal freedom and healthier well-being. A relationship counsellor will help you focus on resolving relationship issues, conflicts and misunderstandings in support of the health and well-being of those involved.
